The role

We are looking for ambitious and motivated financial planners to join our fantastic team.

This is a self-employed role, and you will need an existing, portable client bank to make the move financially viable for you. We are seeking colleagues who are ready to use their existing client bank as the foundation of their future success.

Although you are expected and required to generate your own new business opportunities, you will benefit from an equal share of company-generated enquiries and referrals.  You will also be provided with the materials, training, and support to generate significant new business from introducers, using our proven sales and marketing system.

We operate a simple payaway structure where you will retain 70% of the gross fee and commission income that you produce.  There are no additional charges or hidden costs

The company

Askaig Newington was founded in 2020 by our owner and director Adam Flack.

Adam was previously the majority shareholder and director of a long-established advice firm. Wanting to do things a bit differently, he sold the business to launch Askaig.

With our processes, investment proposition, support team and culture now firmly established, the time is right to expand our planning team, and invite the right individuals to join in our success.

Askaig Newington is an appointed representative of Sense Network.  We selected Sense from a number of options that were available to us, both network and directly authorised, due to their pragmatic and flexible approach, and their exemplary compliance record.

All of Sense’s fees and charges are covered by Askaig Newington, with no additional cost to you.

The culture

We aim to maintain a fun and vibrant working environment, while always respecting that managing people’s life savings is a serious business.

We operate on an open and transparent basis, and very much encourage the sharing of ideas, successes, and setbacks.  We believe that discussing tricky or unusual cases, or seeking support from a colleague with specialist knowledge, will lead to better client outcomes, satisfaction, and retention.

By creating an environment that encourages communication and collaboration between all members of the team, we can take advantage of decades of combined experience and knowledge to better serve our clients.

The support

We provide full and comprehensive paraplanning and administration support, which we believe goes far beyond the level that’s available to most self-employed advisers.

This includes:

  • Collecting factfind information and attitude to risk questionnaires via secure online links

  • Preparing and sending all client and fee agreements to clients via DocuSign

  • Preparing and sending letters of authority, and collating the responses

  • Regularly updating the client about the progress of data gathering and policy submission

  • Preparing and submitting new business

  • Liaising with product providers pre- and post-submission

  • Completion of all suitability reports, including complex cases

  • Maintaining the client file

  • Liaising with compliance for all pre- and post-sale case reviews, and attending to any remedial actions

  • Dealing with non-advice servicing queries

Our support team are highly experienced and knowledgeable, and our support package has been designed to enable our planners to spend more time with clients and to continue generating new business opportunities.

The location

We have private offices within a beautiful complex of converted barns at Wrotham Business Park in Barnet.  Located on the border of Greater London and Hertfordshire, the office is extremely well located for the M25, A1, M1, London Underground and mainline rail.

With an enviable outlook across rolling countryside, and with the evocative architecture of the business park, our office never fails to give visitors the ‘wow factor’.

The office has a boardroom-style meeting room with seating for up to six people, and planners are invited and encouraged to meet clients here.

While there is no requirement for our planning team to work from the office, we do like to foster a vibrant, fun and friendly team environment, which we strongly feel is enhanced by face-to-face interaction and collaboration.

All team members are required to attend quarterly practice meetings, which are held in the office or at an off-site location nearby.
